A warm, down-to-earth family in Leland is seeking a reliable, engaging nanny for their happy, active 1-year-old son, with an exciting transition ahead as they welcome a newborn this June.
This role is ideal for a nanny who wants to grow with a family—starting with a lighter, predictable schedule this spring and transitioning into a more substantial role (25+ guaranteed hours) after 90 days if the right nanny would prefer to add hours. The family will also be willing to further increase hours in late 2026/early 2027 if the nanny prefers, to create a more full-time schedule.

9:00 AM – 2:00 PM or 11:00 AM/12:00 PM – 4:00 PM/5:00 PM

Childcare Responsibilities:
Provide care, warmth, and security in the absence of parents
Plan and actively participate in age-appropriate development activities for the children- plan activities that promote physical, emotional, intellectual, and social development.
Actively participate in the children’s special problems or interests and serve as a resource for problem-solving
Plan and prepare meals for children, including preparing bottles and nutritious meals/snacks
Follow the family’s schedule of feeding, waking, nap (schedule to be adjusted on a regular basis)
Maintain clean hygiene for the children (dress and change clothes when needed, changing diaper frequently (at least every two hours and when needed))
Clothe children
Leave notes for the family when supplies are running low
Apply diaper creams, and ointments when needed
Give medication when required and as agreed on with family
Fill out daily activity logs when asked by family
Bathe children when requested
Comply with family’s discipline and child-rearing preferences
Provide reasonable flexibility in times of emergency or unexpected schedule changes
Possibly provide transportation in the future for the children and facilitate playgroups and outings when agreed upon with the family (transportation would be in the nanny’s vehicle with mileage reimbursement)
Light Child-Care Related Housekeeping Services:
Unloading/loading dishwasher when needed
General tidying/straightening of playrooms, children’s bedrooms, kitchen after children’s meals
Loading children’s dishes in dishwasher
Cleaning bottles
Children’s laundry once a week or as needed
Maintenance, cleaning, & care of children’s belongings (highchair, crib, toys, stroller, etc)
Requirements:
Experience with infants and/or multiple children
Engaging, active, and dependable
2-3 professional references
CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain)
Willing to undergo and pass a background check
Comfortable with a friendly dog in the home (no pet care required)
Able to lift/carry 30+ lbs and navigate stairs
Open to caring for sick children when needed
Preferences:
Willing to commit long term to provide consistency for the family
Flexibility for occasional schedule adjustments with advance notice
Available for very occasional overnight care - especially around baby’s due date in June
