  • 01. Submit Online Application

    Submit your online application and childcare related resume or work history.

  • 02. Phone Interview

    We schedule a brief 30-minute phone call to learn about your experience, availability, and what you're looking for in a position.

  • 03. Face-to-Face Interview

    A thorough interview — we’ll meet either via Zoom or in person — to understand your background, approach to care, and professional goals.

  • 04. Vetting

    We reach out to your professional references, verify CPR/First Aid certification, and put together your Nanny profile to present to families.

  • 05. Family Interview

    When a family is the right fit, we present your profile and will coordinate the interview between you and them.

  • 06. Offer

    Once you meet with the family and both sides feel it’s a good fit, we’ll present the offer from the family. After you accept, we’ll run your background check and put together the family/nanny work agreement.

  • 07. Start Working

    the electronically signed agreement. We’ll confirm your first day with the family, and from there you’ll work with them directly. We’re still here anytime you need support or have questions.

What It Takes

    • 18 years of age or older

    • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED

    • Two (2) years of professional childcare experience (paid or volunteer) for Part-Time or Babysitting positions

    • Three (3) years of professional childcare experience (paid or volunteer) for Full-Time positions

    • Provide professional references who can speak to your childcare experience

    • Infant/Child CPR & First Aid Certification (or willing to take the course)

    • Safe and dependable driver with reliable transportation

    • Pass the screening process, which includes criminal background and driving record

    • Passion for working with children

    • Ability to be discreet and maintain client/agency confidentiality 

    • Patient, respectful, and kind towards others

    • Full-Time Nanny Placement: Ideal for experienced nannies looking for a rewarding full-time role with one family (30+ hours per week) where they are able to focus primarily on childcare related duties. To qualify, candidates should have at least three years of previous experience.

    • Full-Time Nanny/Family Assistant: Ideal for experienced nannies looking for 30+ hours per week with one family and is comfortable taking on household duties in addition to childcare. To qualify, candidates should have at least three years of previous experience and have the ability to remain organized and multi-task.

    • Part-Time Nanny: Ideal for students or anyone wanting less than 30 hours per week. Primary focus is on childcare and candidates should have at least 2 years experience.

    • On-Call Babysitting: Ideal for anyone looking for a flexible schedule or wants to pick up shifts to earn extra money outside of a set school or other job schedule. This is also a great way to gain more experience for anyone looking to become a Nanny.

  • Once we receive your application, our team will review it and contact you for the next steps. Qualified candidates will have a phone interview, Zoom or face-to-face interview, reference checks, social media screen, and background checks.  

    Please note that while we do try to reply to all applications and inquiries, due to the high volume received, we are not always able to do so. If you are an experienced caregiver who has applied but did not get a response, PLEASE check back in with us. Unfortunately, there are some weeks when there just are aren’t enough hours in the day.

  • For Nanny placements, employment will be directly with the family and they will be responsible for paying you directly. We are here to guide both sides through the process and best practices to ensure smooth transactions.

    For on-call bookings, you will typically be paid directly by the family, but may be paid from SCN for certain types of bookings, like events. You will be giving payment information prior to the booking.

  • While the compensation and benefits may vary depending on the position requirements and family, our team works with families to advise on fair and competitive pay rates that satisfies all parties.

    Average Rates Per Position:

    • Full-Time Nanny: $20-$27/hr

    • FT Nanny/Family Assistant: $22-$32/hr

    • Part-Time Nanny: $18-$25/hr

    • On-Call Babysitting: Rates will vary depending on if you’re working an event, church nursery, or private family booking. However, our minimum sitter rate is $18 per hour.

    *Note, SCN has flat rate placement fees for families rather than charging a percentage of the nanny's annual salary. This ensures the nannies' compensation is not penalized due to agency costs.

  • Our families complete a registration process but are not screened the same way our candidates are. Your safety and comfort is a top priority and we promise to only send you to homes you feel comfortable in. If you have an issue once you get to a booking, please contact SCN right away.
