Part-Time Nanny with Base Access

Location: Camp Lejeune (base access required)

Pay: $20 - $23 per hour

Hours: 20 Guaranteed hours per week

Start Date: Mid-May to Early June

Schedule: Mon - Fri, 6:30am to 10:30am

Family Overview:

Meet a busy, active family of five living on base at Camp Lejeune who needs a reliable, energetic childcare pro to help keep their mornings running and their afternoons on track. Mom and Dad are both working parents who just need a solid human (or 2) in their corner — someone who can show up, take the wheel, and make the chaos feel manageable. There's also their deeply unbothered Labrador who has been described as an "athleisure lab." He's living his best life and requires very little from you.

The crew: two daughters (9 and 3.5) and a son (6) who all have places to be and things to do.

Here's the deal on schedule: This position runs a split shift — mornings from 6:30–8:30am and afternoons from 4:00–6:00pm, Monday through Friday. The family would love one person to cover both windows, but they're fully open to hiring two candidates, one per shift, each with 10 guaranteed hours per week. One person doing both shifts comes with 20 guaranteed hours per week.

Base access to Camp Lejeune is required for this role — this is non-negotiable, so please keep that in mind before applying.

What Your Day Will Include:

Monday through Friday, 6:30–10:30am — early mornings are for the kids, the rest of the time is for keeping the household running. That's 15 guaranteed hours per week, with up to 20 hours available for someone who wants the hours and  stays genuinely busy and finds their rhythm with this family.

In a dream world, this person would also be open to occasionally flipping to a split shift (6:30–8:30am and 4:00–6:00pm) when the family's schedule calls for it. That flexibility isn't a requirement — but it's a meaningful bonus for the right candidate.

Duties Include:

  • Provide warm, attentive care for three children (ages 3.5, 6, and 9) in parents' absence; follow family's routines, discipline approach, and child-rearing preferences

  • Handle morning routines: getting kids up, dressed, hygienically presentable, fed, and off to school or camp on time

  • Provide transportation to and from school, camps, activities, and appointments; manage afternoon logistics so not every child has to be dragged to every sibling's event

  • Assist with homework and ensure assignments and projects are completed accurately

  • Prepare nutritious meals and snacks for children, including packing lunches and making kids' dinner

  • Maintain tidy common areas, children's bedrooms, and play spaces; handle children's laundry and dishwasher duties when there’s time

  • Light pet care — feeding as needed; he already has a dog walker, so the bar is low

  • Communicate openly with parents about the kids' days, flag any supply needs, and keep them in the loop on anything worth knowing

  • Administer medication when needed and agreed upon; provide care for sick children

Requirements:

  • Camp Lejeune base access

  • Proven experience caring for multiple children across different ages

  • CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to become certified)

  • Physically active and able — carrying 30+ lbs up and down stairs is part of the gig

  • Reliable, calm under pressure, and genuinely proactive

  • Comfortable with dogs (the Athleisure Lab is extremely low-maintenance, but still)

  • Open communicator who keeps parents in the loop without being asked

  • Willing to pass a background check and provide 2–3 professional references

Preferences:

  • Long-term commitment — this family wants consistency and is hoping to find their person, not just a placeholder

  • Willingness to occasional pet-sit when the family travels

Schedule:

  • Desired start date: Mid-May around May 18th, but flexible to push to early June if needed for the right candidate(s) flexible for the right candidate

  • Desired Schedule: Monday - Friday; 6:30am to 10:30am

  • 20 Guaranteed Hours per Week

Compensation & Perks:

  • $20–$23/hour, depending on experience

  • Mileage reimbursement when transporting children or running family errands

  • 5 paid sick/personal days per year, available after 60 days of employment

Major holidays off, paid (when they fall on a regularly scheduled workday)
