Part-Time Nanny and Toddler Tamer Needed Wrightsville Beach

A Wrightsville Beach family with two little ones — ages 1 and 3 — is looking for a full-time nanny who understands that the best classroom is often outside. Both parents are busy professionals with demanding Monday through Friday schedules, and they need someone equally committed: organized, developmentally minded, and genuinely excited about the work of early childhood. If you believe sand, sunshine, and a good book are the foundation of a stellar day, you're already speaking this family's language.

The Role

This is a full-time, five-day-a-week position with a consistent schedule in one of Wilmington's most coveted zip codes. The nanny will be the primary caregiver for a toddler and a one-year-old while both parents are at work — which means this role calls for someone confident flying solo, experienced with the early years, and intentional about how young children learn and grow.

Schedule

  • Monday through Friday, 8am–4pm

  • ~40 hours per week

  • Starting early August

What You'll Be Doing

  • Providing attentive, age-appropriate care for a 1 and 3 year old throughout the full workday

  • Prioritizing outdoor time — beach walks, backyard play, neighborhood adventures, and all the fresh air two small humans can handle

  • Supporting developmental and educational milestones through intentional play, language-rich interaction, and age-appropriate activities

  • Keeping a predictable routine that helps both children feel secure and engaged

  • Light child-related tasks to keep the day running smoothly

What This Family Is Looking For

The priority here is clear: a nanny who is as passionate about early childhood development as she is about getting outside. These parents want their children actively learning and exploring — not parked in front of a screen. The ideal candidate brings structure without rigidity, enthusiasm without chaos, and the kind of patient, curious energy that makes little ones light up. Experience with infants and toddlers together is a real plus, as is familiarity with developmental milestones for both age groups.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $22–26 per hour, based on experience

  • Major holidays off, paid

  • 10 paid days off annually

If you're someone who... ...gets genuinely excited about a 1-year-old's first words and a 3-year-old's big questions, who plans outdoor adventures like they're on the agenda, and who brings real intentionality to early childhood care — this family built this role for you. Wrightsville Beach as your daily backdrop is just the bonus.
