Part-Time After School Adventure Nanny Needed

Porter's Neck family of five is on the hunt for an after-school nanny who can handle the beautiful chaos of three kids, a school pickup line, and a soccer cleat that's definitely in the car somewhere. Mom works a hybrid schedule and Dad travels for work, so they need someone reliable, energetic, and genuinely organized — the kind of person who has the snack ready before anyone even asks.

The three kids are 4, 6, and 7 years old, which means afternoons are full, loud, and a whole lot of fun. If you thrive in a busy household, love being the steady presence that makes the after-school hours feel easy, and maybe even enjoy helping throw dinner together at the end of the day — this family wants to meet you.

The Role

This is a part-time, Monday through Friday after-school position with a consistent schedule and a family that values routine. The nanny will handle school pickup, activity transport, homework help, and occasional dinner prep. There's also a senior Labrador in the home who mostly just wants to be near the action — low maintenance, high charm.

Schedule

  • Monday through Friday, 2:30–6:30pm

  • ~20 hours per week

  • Starting mid-August

What You'll Be Doing

  • School pickup and transportation to activities (a clean driving record and reliable vehicle are a must)

  • Homework support across multiple grade levels — patience and a little creativity go a long way here

  • Engaging afternoon activities that keep three kids meaningfully occupied

  • Starting dinner on nights the family needs it — nothing elaborate, just helpful

  • Light child-related tidying to keep the afternoon from becoming an archaeological dig

What This Family Is Looking For

Three kids at three different stages means no two afternoons look exactly alike. The ideal candidate is someone who can pivot gracefully, keep things moving, and bring genuine warmth to the after-school rush. Organization matters here — pickup times, activity schedules, and homework deadlines don't manage themselves. A nanny who communicates proactively and keeps the household running smoothly when parents are juggling work will fit right in.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $24–28 per hour, based on experience

  • Paid holidays

  • 10 paid days off annually

  • On-the-books payroll through Southern Coast Nannies

If you're someone who... ...sees after-school hours as an opportunity rather than a sprint, can wrangle three energetic kids with warmth and a plan, and doesn't mind a laid-back old Lab hanging around while you do it — this is a great role. Bonus points if you consider a smooth homework-to-dinner hand-off a personal victory.
