Family Overview:
Inside the Landfall neighborhood in Wilmington, there's a household that runs on chaos, cooking, and two very good dogs — and it's looking for its next right-hand person.
This family has three kids (one spirited 9-year-old girl and a pair of active 6-year-old twin boys) who need someone equal parts steady and fun: a person who can referee a Lego dispute, pack a lunch that actually gets eaten, and still have the bandwidth to keep the pantry from spiraling into chaos. Bonus points if you find genuine joy in both.
The Schedule
Monday–Friday, roughly 10am–9pm depending on the day (34 guaranteed hours/week)
Occasional Saturday morning coverage
Occasional overnight care during parent travel (about 2 nights every 6 weeks - but family can find backup help if nanny isn’t available for every single overnight needed)
What You'll Actually Be Doing
School pickups and after-school homework wrangling
Meal prep for the kids daily, plus family dinner 3 nights a week (calling all home cooks)
Keeping bedrooms, playrooms, and the family calendar in some semblance of order
Running errands, managing vendor calls, and generally guarding this family's time
Being a warm, steady presence — someone who shows up with patience and doesn't rattle easily
Snuggling up to two very good dogs (a Golden Retriever and a Bernedoodle) on the regular
The family can provide a vehicle to use for any driving of the children or running household errands.
Who Thrives Here
A proactive self-starter who doesn't need a task list to know what needs doing
Someone who genuinely loves cooking and finds organizing satisfying rather than tedious
A calm, emotionally attuned presence who can meet kids where they are, including on harder days
Comfortable carrying 30+ lbs up and down stairs, and up for an active, on-your-feet role
Open communicator who's in it for the long haul — this family is looking for consistency, not a placeholder
Requirements
CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to become certified)
3–4 professional references
Able to pass a background check
Experience managing multiple children at once
Willingness to commit long term for family consistency
The Perks
$22–$25/hour DOE, with overtime for anything past 40 hours
10 paid vacation days annually (5 at the nanny’s choice and 5 at the family’s choice)
5 sick days paid off a year (accrued monthly after the first 30 days)
Paid major holidays off when they fall on your normal day to work
A family that treats their nanny like the essential team member they are
Sound like your kind of chaos? Southern Coast Nannies would love to hear from you.
