Hours: 15 hrs per week

Schedule: MWTH 12pm-5pm

Start Date: Mid November

Family Overview:

A sweet Snead’s Ferry family is looking for their very first nanny, and they're approaching it exactly right — thoughtfully, warmly, and with a real sense of what matters. family is looking for their very first nanny, and they're approaching it exactly right — thoughtfully, warmly, and with a real sense of what matters. Mom works remotely from home, and Dad is a Marine officer. Their first baby, a daughter, is due in early October, and they want someone wonderful in place by mid-November. If you love the newborn stage and you're the kind of nanny who genuinely geeks out over developmental milestones, tummy time, and the magic of reading aloud to a brand-new human — keep reading.

The Role

This is a part-time position, approximately 15 hours per week, supporting a first-time mom. She'll be in the house but unavailable when on work meetings — so this nanny needs to be confident, calm, and completely capable of flying solo with a newborn. The family is easygoing and relaxed (their words, and the vibe is very much confirmed), and they're looking for someone who matches that energy while still being deeply intentional about care.

Schedule

  • Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, roughly 12–5pm (with some flexibility to shift to 1–6pm depending on the nanny's commute)

  • Approximately 15 hours per week

What You'll Be Doing

  • Providing attentive, nurturing newborn care — feeds, naps, wake windows, all of it

  • Prioritizing developmental activities: walks, reading, tummy time, age-appropriate play

  • Following a no-screen-time-before-2 approach (firm, and honestly, respect)

  • Bottle cleaning and baby laundry — that's the extent of the household ask

  • Modeling emotional intelligence and helping this little one learn to navigate her feelings from day one

What This Family Is Looking For

The number one quality on their list: patience. Number two: emotional intelligence. They want a nanny who understands that how a baby is responded to matters just as much as what's being done. Baby sign language is a lovely bonus, but CPR certification is non-negotiable. The family would love someone comfortable with religious books and faith-based elements woven naturally into the day — the nanny doesn't need to share the faith, just respect it.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $25–28 per hour, commensurate with experience

  • Guaranteed hours for all scheduled time (yes, even if you're sent home early or the family takes a vacation)

  • 4 paid sick/personal days annually

If you're someone who... ...finds newborns genuinely exciting (not terrifying), brings steady calm to a household, has the emotional depth to support early development the right way, and wants to be part of a warm, faith-grounded family's first chapter — this one's for you.
