If you're someone who thinks afternoons are made for adventure — snack time, backyard chaos, and two boys who are absolutely not going to sit still — this family wants to meet you.

A part-time nanny in Wilmington is needed to join their crew for afternoon care three days a week. The position is straightforward, the hours are consistent, and the kids? Two adventurous boys who will keep things interesting every single day.

Meet the Family

Dad is a single parent to two active boys (2.5 and 4 years old) who love to be outside, get a little messy, and make the most of every afternoon. This family values someone who comes ready to engage — not just supervise — and who genuinely enjoys the kind of hands-on, get-outside energy that two spirited kids bring to the table.

The Schedule

Three days per week, four hours each day — ideally Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 12:30–4:30pm. The family is open to adjusting days and times to find the right fit for the right candidate.

For those looking to pick up a little extra time, optional Saturday hours (3:30–6:30pm) are available but never required.

12 guaranteed hours per week | $21-$26/hour

What the Days Look Like

The heart of this role is engaged, attentive childcare — getting outside, facilitating active play, and being the kind of caregiver who makes the afternoon something the kids actually look forward to. Beyond childcare, the nanny helps keep things running smoothly with light household support: tidying the kitchen and play areas, managing the kids' laundry, loading and unloading the dishwasher, bringing in packages, and the occasional errand. Nothing overwhelming — just a genuine teammate for the household.

Who They're Looking For

  • Energetic and hands-on — two active boys require someone who can keep up and enjoys doing it

  • Comfortable getting outside and a little messy — this family isn't looking for perfectly Pinterest-worthy afternoons, just real, engaged fun

  • Reliable and calm — consistent, punctual, and not easily rattled by a toddler tantrum or a scraped knee

  • Flexible — able to roll with schedule shifts and occasional unexpected needs

  • Experienced — comfortable with multiple children and confident in their caregiving

Requirements

  • Prior childcare experience (experience with multiple children preferred)

  • CPR/First Aid certified or willing to certify

  • Must pass a background check and provide 2–3 professional references

  • Physically active; able to carry 30+ lbs and navigate stairs

  • Reliable, safety-conscious, and willing to care for sick children

Compensation

  • $24-$30/hour

  • 12 guaranteed hours per week

  • Optional Saturday hours available for those who want them
