Family Overview:
A warm, growing family relocating from Alexandria, VA to Wilmington, NC this October is looking for a dedicated nanny/preschool aide for their 3.5-year-old daughter, with a second baby due in January. Dad travels periodically for work and will maintain a Wilmington office; Mom will be home full-time but works with Dad from time to time.
Their daughter has cerebral palsy with developmental delays but does not require medical care (developmentally similar to a 1-year-old). She's working hard on her mobility and communication, and an absolute joy who lights up around music, people, and play. The nanny will need to be comfortable physically lifting/carrying her (around 37 lbs) throughout the day for transitions and transfers, as well as changing her diapers while she’s working towards building development skills. She thrives with someone who is engaged, patient, and tuned in to her cues.
While experience with developmental delays is certainly welcome, the family’s top priority is finding a nanny who is naturally attentive, interactive, and eager to learn how to best support her through play, connection, and consistency. The ideal caregiver is someone who wants to be a true team member — not just a clock‑watcher — and who is genuinely invested in helping her reach developmental goals and celebrating her progress.
The nanny’s primary focus will be caring for their toddler, though there will be occasional times when support with both children is needed for short periods. There may also be moments when additional household help is appreciated while the parents are with the kids.
This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who loves being hands-on, enjoys meaningful work, and wants to grow alongside a family who values warmth, collaboration, and heart.
What Your Day Will Include:
Childcare Related:
Serve as a dedicated one-on-one aide accompanying their daughter to preschool, supporting her participation, mobility, and communication with teachers and classmates

Assist with transfers and mobility (must be comfortable safely lifting/assisting a ~37 lb child)
Maintain good hygiene for children including bathing when requested and diapering for toddler and at times the baby
Support outings: park visits, music classes, library, Children's Museum
Light housekeeping tied to the children (tidying playroom/bedroom, kids' laundry)
Occasional help with meal prep, errands, or light household tasks when bandwidth allows
Flexibility to help with the new baby down the road if Mom wants dedicated one-on-one time with her daughter
Requirements:
CPR/First Aid certified or willing to become certified
